Short, because it can be.

This policy explains how Necessary LLC handles information on this website and in One Seventy.
What we collect
If you request early access or contact us, we receive your name, email address, and what you write. Our hosting and email providers may also process basic technical information needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and send your message.
In One Seventy, you may create session details such as locations, timing, shot lists, assignments, gear, tasks, and notes. That app data belongs to you and is stored in your iCloud account, not on servers operated by Necessary.
Event Day collaboration
The person who starts an Event Day is the organizer. When the organizer invites other people, the session information they choose to share is stored in the organizer's private iCloud account and made available to invited participants. Updates participants share during Event Day, such as shot status, assignments, and notes, are stored with that shared data in the organizer's iCloud account. Necessary does not receive or store the contents of the Event Day on servers we operate.
When Event Day ends, One Seventy deletes the shared Event Day data from the organizer's iCloud and removes the participants' access. Temporary copies on participating devices are also removed. Deletion may take a short time to finish syncing across devices and iCloud. Necessary cannot recover that data, so participants should save anything they need before Event Day ends.
The organizer controls who is invited and is responsible for sharing only information they have the right to share. Participants should expect everyone invited to that Event Day to see their contributions while it is active.
How we use information
We use contact information to reply to you and, if you requested early access, to send product access and launch updates. We use basic technical information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website. We do not use Event Day content for advertising or model training.
Who handles information
Apple provides iCloud storage and syncing for One Seventy under your Apple account and Apple's terms and privacy policy. Our website host and email provider process only the information needed to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect the rights and safety of Necessary, our users, or others.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal information. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't send marketing you didn't ask for. There is no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages and early-access requests only as long as needed to respond, manage access, meet legal obligations, and maintain reasonable business records. Event Day data follows the shorter schedule above: it is deleted when Event Day ends.
Your choices
Email hello@necessary.email to ask what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or request its deletion. We may need to verify your request, and some information may be kept where the law requires it. Because app data is held in iCloud, you manage it in One Seventy and through your Apple account.
Children
One Seventy and this website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided it to us, contact us so we can remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly on this page.
